South Korea's Ex-president Arrested For A Second Time
Yoon Seok Yeol

What's he being charged with?

A Seoul court has issued a detention order for former South Korean President Yoon Seok-yol for the second time.

It was reported by Yonhap.

South Korea's special prosecutor's office, which is investigating the imposition of martial law last year, requested an arrest warrant for Yoon Seok-yol on July 6. The special prosecutor sought the warrant on five key charges.

What the former president is accused of

The charges include the former president violating the rights of cabinet members before martial law was imposed. He was also accused of falsifying a document and spreading false information about martial law. The defense denied the charges.

The judge decided to grant the warrant request. He reasoned that the former president could destroy evidence in the case. Yoon Seok-yeol was taken to the Seoul Detention Center, where he will await further court action.
