Delfi: The Drone Flown From Belarus To Lithuania Is Russian Gerbera

It mimics a strike drone.

A drone that fell in Lithuania on the morning of July 10 is a Russian decoy imitating the Geran-2 attack drone, an analog of Iran's Shahed-136 kamikaze drone, writes Delfi.

According to Delfi, the downed drone is a Russian Gerbera drone that has been used in Russia's military operations against Ukraine for a year.

The drone is a simplified and cheaper version of Iran's Shahed-136 kamikaze drone, known in Russia as the Geran-2.

The Gerbera can perform a variety of tasks, including reconnaissance, surveillance, strike and air defense diversion. Due to its low cost, the drone can be used as a decoy, which complicates the work of the enemy's air defense, the publication notes.

The body of the "Gerbera" is made of foam plastic, which was just reported after its discovery.

It was reported that on July 10, it became known that around 11.30 the Lithuanian Air Force recorded an object approaching the Lithuanian border from the direction of Belarus. The combat readiness of fighters in the air was raised.

Later the object fell. The object was reported to be an airplane-type drone made of plywood and foam plastic.
