Why there was a technical failure with bank cards, said Deputy Chairman of the National Bank Andriy Kartun, BelTA informs.
"Indeed, yesterday morning there was a technical failure in the system. It was associated with the next scheduled update of the system and affected certain banks. Many could see a negative balance or some write-off of funds," said Andrei Kartun.
According to him, today the National Bank notes that the actions of a working system are fully restored. And including the banks themselves inform that they have corrected all the errors.
"The money has not disappeared anywhere. No one wrote them off. It was not a virus attack or hacking, but a certain technical failure during the next system update. Everyone could have been affected, including employees of the National Bank, Belarus Interbank Settlement Center and ordinary citizens," added Andrei Kartun.
We recall that in the morning, July 9, customers of several banks noticed that their bank cards had been debited. Employees of the call center of Belarusbank confirmed that there was indeed a problem and assured that it would be solved within a day.
However, it was not possible to meet this deadline, and the deadline was postponed several times. In the end, the failure was eliminated on the night of July 10.
