Enterprises Go Bankrupt En Masse In Belarus

Gomel region has the most of them.

On July 10, the Supreme Court of Belarus published a fresh update on insolvency settlement cases pending before economic courts. The publication says that as of July 1, Belarus has 36 cases of economic insolvency (bankruptcy) of state-owned organizations and enterprises with a share of state ownership in the authorized capital.

As "Flagstaff" noted, the largest number of such organizations is in Homel voblast. There are 8 bankruptcy cases in the proceedings of the regional Economic Court, while in the courts of other regions there are from 0 to 4 such cases.

There are the following enterprises in Gomel region: OJSC "Mozyr Distillery Plant", "Gomel Metalware Plant", OJSC "Gomeloblstroy", OJSC "Gomel Fat Plant", OJSC "Svetlogorsk House-Building Plant", OJSC "Gomeloblstroy", OJSC "Gomeltorgmash", Belarusian-Dutch joint venture "AMIPAK", OJSC "Construction and Assembly Trust No. 27".

It should be noted that the bankruptcy cases of these enterprises have been ongoing for many years, some - since 2016.

The case of only one enterprise was closed - it is Zhlobin's "Construction and Installation Trust No. 40". The publication of the Supreme Court notes that bankruptcy proceedings were terminated with respect to this organization due to the approval of the settlement agreement in June 2025.
