He could have died in the Kursk region.
The commander of the 155th Marine Brigade Sergey Ilyin has been buried in the Russian village of Musirmy in the Chuvash Republic. He was allegedly liquidated in the Kursk region.
The death of the Russian military officer was reported by the head of the Urmarsky municipal district, Vasily Shigildeev.
The RF said the Russian military officer died during a "special military operation," but did not specify the exact cause of death.
Gromadske suggests that Ilyin may have died as a result of a Defense Forces strike on a command post in the village of Korenevo in the Kursk region, July 2. At that time, the brigade's chief of staff Leonid Bashkardin and Russian Navy Colonel Nariman Shikhaliyev were killed in an AFU strike.
