"Trump Is Losing Patience With The Kremlin."

Russia is "playing" with the U.S., and this is starting to irritate the president and his entourage.

U.S. President Donald Trump is suddenly changing his rhetoric: for the first time in his second cadence, he announced a willingness to supply weapons to Ukraine.

Is this a temporary decision under pressure from allies or the beginning of a change in his course? Charter97.org spoke to Oleh Belokolos, director of the Center for National Resilience Studies in Kiev and former advisor to the Ukrainian embassy in Canada and Kenya, about this:

- This happened under the influence of the fact that, in the opinion of the United States, Russia is not demonstrating any constructive position. This is beginning to frankly irritate not only Trump himself, but also those who surround him in the White House. The US President is a man of little predictability and emotion. However, it is possible that we are seeing the beginning of a change in Washington's line towards Moscow.

- Trump announced an "important statement on Russia". What do you think is behind it: real sanctions or another media maneuver to put pressure on the Kremlin?

- I think there are two key points here. The first is that there is a growing realization in Trump's inner circle that they are being played, that they are being misled. And that's causing irritation. The second point is that there is already a consensus in the U.S. Congress on the need to tighten sanctions against Russia. The president cannot ignore the positions of lawmakers - that is how the American political system works.
