It supplies the Russian military-industrial complex.
On the evening of July 10, a gas pipeline exploded in the Russian town of Langepas in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous District of Russia's Tyumen Region. It supplies the Russian military-industrial complex (MIC).
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine citing sources in the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry.
The source said that as a result of the special operation, a section of a large main gas pipeline that serves Russian military-industrial complex enterprises in the Chelyabinsk, Orenburg and Sverdlovsk regions was destroyed.
The capacity of the affected pipeline is 2.6 billion cubic meters of natural gas per year. Taking into account the distance between the gas compressor stations (about 20 kilometers), there were about 4,112,000 m3 of gas in the two pipes damaged by the explosions.
Since the price of 1,000 m3 of gas is now about $350, the amount of damage caused at one time alone is at least $1.3 million.
The interlocutor in the GSD explains that the work on restoration and testing of the gas pipeline will last about one month, because the damaged pipes are located in swampy areas, which hampers the work of repair teams and will reduce the volume of gas supplies for the specified period up to 25 million m3. This in turn will lead to indirect material losses of almost 76 million US dollars.
Local media reported that as a result of the powerful explosions, the local population was "deeply concerned". Emergency services and repair crews immediately rushed to the scene.
-Western Siberia, with its rich natural resources, which literally feeds Moscow and allows the Kremlin to live in luxury, should once again think about its separate future. There is a feeling that when the locals start actively advocating for their own independence from the center, such "incomprehensible explosions" will stop, Siberians will no longer die for Putin's interests in the so-called "SWO", and the region will flourish thanks to its natural riches. By the same time, obviously, 'something will be happening' here and there with GURKOT, explosions and mad losses," a Ukrainian intelligence interlocutor commented on the event.
