The Deputy Director Of The FBI Is Contemplating Retirement.

Amid conflict with the U.S. Department of Justice.

FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino is thinking of resigning amid a conflict between the bureau and the U.S. Department of Justice.

It is reported by CNN.

It is noted that he has not yet made a final decision on the resignation and may remain in his position.

Sources said Bongino told his inner circle that he was thinking of resigning because of the fallout from the publication regarding the case of Epstein, an American financier convicted of sex crimes and human trafficking.

The publication noted that it came after a bitter confrontation between the FBI deputy director and Attorney General Pam Bondi over the handling of the case earlier this week.

The confrontation came to a head during a meeting Wednesday that included Bongino, Bondi, FBI Director Cash Patel and White House Chief of Staff Susan Wiles.

The conflict was sparked by an article that claimed the FBI wanted more information on the Epstein case, but the DOJ denied the request.

Bongino was accused of leaking the data. He denied that he had given the information to NewsNation, the source said.
