The AFU Destroyed The Last Russian Crossing At Zaporizhzhya

The strike was carried out by a MiG.

A Ukrainian MiG-29 probably destroyed a Russian crossing in the occupied part of the Zaporizhzhya region with two precision strikes of aerial bombs.

This was reported by Militarnyi.

The strike was probably carried out by a MiG-29 fighter jet armed with two American GBU-62 aerial bombs, which were equipped with the JDAM-ER planning and correction kit. The strikes were made possible by the systematic destruction of Russian air defense systems, particularly Buk SAMs, by Ukrainian defenders.

The video released captured the moment the bombs struck a temporary crossing built on the site of a destroyed highway bridge. The facility was of key importance to enemy logistics. Due to the terrain, it was the only bridge on the only usable asphalt road, which supplied the Russian grouping, which since late June intensified its offensive in the Kamenskoye area.

For about three weeks of fighting, Russian forces managed to dislodge Ukrainian units from part of their positions behind the Yanchekrak River and themselves crossed the reservoir, which had dried up after the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power plant was blown up, and occupied part of the village of Kamenskoye and neighboring villages of Stepnoye and Lobkovo.

JDAM-ER

JDAM is a set of equipment that turns conventional free-fall bombs into precision GPS-guided all-weather guided munitions.

The kit is equipped with an inertial navigation system and GPS receiver for precision targeting, as well as a tail module with a steerable tailplane that allows the bomb to correct its flight path to the target. This unit also houses navigation and other technical equipment.

The ER (Extended Range) modification is augmented by a sophisticated wing module that provides the bomb's ability to glide to the target, significantly increasing its range. When launched from high altitude, the JDAM-ER can engage targets up to 72.4 kilometers away.
