The AFU Showed How The Skynex Anti-aircraft System Destroys "Shaheds"

The AFU Air Force showed a video of Skynex anti-aircraft artillery systems destroying Russian attack drones.

The Telegram of the AFU Air Force reports.

"The Skynex anti-aircraft artillery system of the Rheinmetall company in the service of the Air Force shows flawless results in destroying enemy attack UAVs," the AFU Air Force noted.

The time and place of the anti-aircraft system's work in the AFU are kept secret. Judging by the video, the productive work of the 35-mm automated anti-aircraft gun has proven itself in the fight against enemy drones.

Skynex is an anti-aircraft artillery system designed and manufactured by Rheinmetall. This air defense system is fairly new, as it was introduced in November 2021.

Skynex refers to short-range air defense systems like the German Gepard self-propelled air defense systems. Its main armament is the 35mm Oerlikon Mk3 automatic cannon, which has an effective range of 4,000 meters and a rate of fire of 1,000 rounds per minute.

In January, it was reported that the Skynex air defense system was transferred to Ukraine from Germany along with other weapons, which was part of the announced new aid package.

Three months later, in April, Ukraine received another Skynex air defense system from Germany. Back in February 2023, it was reported that Germany would transfer two Skynex air defense systems to Ukraine.
