Trump Has Changed His Attitude Towards The Kremlin: An Important Signal Has Been Sounded

A former U.S. assistant secretary of state has revealed details.

A signal of a change in the US president's attitude towards Russian dictator Vladimir Putin will be the resumption of military aid deliveries to Ukraine, which were stopped last week due to "an extremely ridiculous decision of the Pentagon". This opinion was expressed by David Kremer, former US assistant secretary of state and director of the George W. Bush Institute, in an interview with Radio Liberty.

"The president has ordered arms deliveries, particularly missiles to Patriot systems. He also asked European partners if they could provide the Ukrainians with similar missiles from their arsenals. If we see a resumption of regular armament, it would signal a reversal in the course that Trump has followed so far. This course, as it has become obvious, leads nowhere, because Vladimir Putin has shown a complete lack of interest in ending the war, despite Trump's numerous attempts to convince him to agree to a ceasefire," he said.

Kremer believes that Trump sincerely wants to achieve the end of the war, so he feels pain when he sees human casualties and realizes that it is Russian President Vladimir Putin who is responsible for the deaths and destruction and who started the war.

"At the same time, back during his first presidency, Donald Trump established a working relationship with Putin, while with Vladimir Zelensky they did not work out - as clearly demonstrated by the infamous meeting between Trump and Zelensky at the White House on February 28 of this year. Recent months, however, have clearly shown a shift in that balance. Meetings between Trump and Zelensky are held in an atmosphere of mutual understanding, relations between the two presidents appear to be improving, while Trump's contacts with Putin are not yielding the expected results. "Moreover - to Trump's last conversation last week, Putin 'responded' with massive airstrikes in Ukraine, the victims of which were dozens of civilians," the former US Assistant Secretary of State emphasized.

According to Kremer, Trump is now irritated, and the tone of his statements to Putin is becoming rougher. The expert also noted that the US president realizes that the Russian dictator does not want to end the war.

"I think there's a pretty high probability that President Trump's approach to this conflict is changing. There have just been reports that he's not opposed to giving the go ahead to a bill for secondary sanctions against countries that trade with Russia. This bill is being actively promoted by his political ally, Senator Lindsey Graham. House Speaker Mike Johnson has also announced that the lower house of Congress will be ready to consider the relevant bill," assured the director of the George W. Bush Institute.

Kremer expressed the opinion that President Trump is beginning to free himself from the illusions that were evident earlier, especially when he said he could end the war in Ukraine in one day.

"I hope it's becoming obvious to him that the only way to stop the war is to hurt Putin: through supplying weapons to Ukraine, confiscating $300 billion of Russian state assets in Western banks - that is, making it clear that he has no other option but to make a peace agreement with Ukraine," he added.
