Ukrainian law enforcers found and eliminated the killers who killed SBU Colonel Ivan Voronich in Kiev on July 10.
The the head of the Security Service of Ukraine Vasyliy Malyuk declared.
Malyuk said the Russians prematurely sent an FSB agent and combat group to Ukraine. Three days ago, it killed an SBU officer, Colonel Ivan Voronich.
The enemy's lair was discovered as a result of covert search, active counterintelligence measures.
"During the detention, they began to resist, there was fire contact, so the villains were liquidated. I want to remind that the only prospect of the enemy on the territory of Ukraine is death," - emphasized Malyuk.
He thanked for the professionalism and support of the employees of the Criminal Investigation Department of the National Police.
Details from the SBU
It turned out that the murder of SBU Colonel Ivan Voronich was committed by a man and a woman. Their handler ordered them to follow the colonel, find out his daily schedule and travel routes.
After that, the Russian gave the agents the coordinates of the cache where the gun was located.
After Voronich's murder, the killers tried to "lay low." But SBU officers discovered their whereabouts in the Kiev region. Today, July 13, in the morning as a result of the SBU operation the killers were liquidated.
SBU Colonel Ivan Voronich was shot dead on the morning of July 10 in the Goloseevsky district of Kiev, when he was leaving the entrance of his house - an unknown person shot him several times with a pistol and fled the scene.
Voronich served in the Special Operations Center (Alfa), which had been engaged in active sabotage against Russian forces since 2014, including the elimination of important figures of the Russian occupation administration.
