Lavrov Embarrassed Himself At His Meeting With Kim Jong-un

The pathetic behavior of the Russian Foreign Minister has caused ridicule.

A video of 75-year-old Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov hugging North Korea's Juche dictator Kim Jong-un with apparent obsequious enthusiasm has gone viral on the Internet, virtually begging for his support for war against Ukraine, writes "Dialog.UA".

The footage shows Lavrov hugging Kim Jong Un, smiling broadly, ingratiating himself and trying to endear himself to the North Korean ruler, known for mass repression, totalitarian propaganda and a cult of personality.

In the exchange of remarks, the Russian foreign minister emphasized the joy of the meeting without a shadow of embarrassment:

- It's very good to see you!

- It's been a year since we met.

- Do you still smoke? And I do.

-This behavior has sparked a wave of irony and criticism on social media. Users called the scene humiliating and pathetic: Russia, which for decades considered itself a "great power," now has to ingratiate itself with North Korea in order to get arms and, according to Western intelligence reports, the possible involvement of the North Korean military in the war against Ukraine.

Social networks note that Lavrov already looks like a man willing to make any pathetic gesture of friendship to save the Kremlin's military adventures.

Many call the footage a symbol of the fall of Russian diplomacy, which until recently claimed the status of world diplomacy. "Here he is, Russia's main ally, North Korean pariah and Juche dictator Kim," social media wrote.
