Serbian President Makes A Statement The Kremlin Won't Like

Vucic met with a top U.S. official.

Serbia is committed to a strategic partnership with the United States and intends to develop cooperation with them in all spheres: from energy to artificial intelligence, President of the Republic Alexander Vucic wrote on Instagram following a meeting with the State Department's top European affairs official Brendan Hanrahan.

He also thanked the Americans "for their unwavering support for Serbia's European integration process" and expressed readiness to "continue working to improve relations." Vucic traveled to the United States in early May and later presented House of Representatives member Claudia Tenney with the Order of the Serbian Flag, First Class, emphasizing that developing relations with Washington is among Belgrade's foreign policy priorities.

In May and June, Russia's Foreign Intelligence Service accused Serbia of continuing to supply ammunition to Ukraine. A second statement said Belgrade was guided by a "thirst for profit" and a desire for a "cowardly" multi-vector policy that "crosses the traditions of friendship with Russia." According to intelligence reports, Serbian shells are being sent with the knowledge of the authorities to NATO states, in particular the Czech Republic, Poland and Bulgaria, in the form of components for subsequent assembly.
