Lukashenko Tried To Explain Why MAZs Are On Fire

He had to justify himself to the governor of St. Petersburg.

The reason for periodic fires of Belarusian MAZ buses is "not only competition," but "also maintenance." Lukashenko said this on July 14 at a meeting with St. Petersburg Governor Alexander Beglov.

He tried to explain that he had already told Beglov the reason for MAZ breakdowns:

-There is not only competition, but also maintenance. If necessary, we can take our machinery, Belarusian, sold in St. Petersburg, for maintenance and operation in order to be fully responsible for it, and not to blame maintenance or someone else," promised Lukashenko.

Russian media wrote about frequent fires of MAZs in Russia.
