Trump: Putin Fooled A Lot Of People, But Not Me

U.S. president tells of conversations with Russian dictator.

Conversations with Vladimir Putin are "always very pleasant," US President Donald Trump has said. According to him, after the conversation "hangs up the phone, says that the conversation was wonderful, and then begins a new raid on Kiev."

The American president also revealed that he tells his wife Melania about "nice conversations" with Putin. To which she is surprised, as Ukraine is being shelled.

"Putin is a tough guy. He fooled a lot of people. Clinton, Bush, Obama, Biden, but not me. There has to be action, there has to be a result. I hope there will be one. Russia is potentially a great country," Trump added.

The American president said that an agreement to settle the Russian-Ukrainian war should have been concluded "a long time ago," as people continue to die. He estimated that the opportunity had presented itself about four times. "And here we are still talking about it," he added.

Answering a question about how far Trump is ready to go in his steps in case of a possible escalation of the war in Ukraine, the American president emphasized that he is determined to settle. "I want this conflict to be stopped. We all want peace," Trump concluded.
