A very clear message is being sent to the Kremlin.

U.S. President Donald Trump's decision to supply arms to Ukraine over NATO arrangements sends a clear message to Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin.

The U.S. Ambassador to NATO Matthew Whitaker said this on Fox News.

"I think first of all it's important to understand: the days of the United States sending taxpayer money without restriction to defend Ukraine are coming to an end. President Trump made a very smart decision and negotiated an agreement with NATO whereby Europe and Canada would pay for the weapons and the U.S. would produce them. Obviously, we are building the best weapons systems in the world and everyone wants them. We will prioritize the delivery of these weapons to Ukraine," he explained.

He said Trump's corresponding decision sends a "very clear" signal to Putin - he has been "given a chance for peace."

"President Trump is a peacemaker. But if you (Putin, - ed.) want war - we will arm Ukraine and Europe will pay for it. I believe this is a major step toward ending the war. In the last 18 months, Russia has seized about one percent of Ukrainian territory. That's not a success. They are losing thousands of soldiers every day. Too many civilians in Ukrainian cities are being injured. So it looks to me like this is the next important step to ending the conflict. But if Vladimir Putin decides to continue the war on Ukrainian soil, the United States will sell weapons to Europe so that Ukraine can defend itself," Whitaker summarized.

We recall that US President Trump announced agreements with NATO to supply arms to Ukraine.

In turn, NATO Secretary General Marco Rutte said that NATO will pay for weapons for Ukraine, which will be produced by the United States.

In addition, the US president also threatened Russia with "very severe duties" if a peace agreement on Ukraine is not reached within 50 days.
