The European Union (EU) and the United States of America (US) have teamed up, causing Russian dictator Vladimir Putin to recognize reality.

This is reported by The Guardian, citing French Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs Jean-Noël Barrot.

While speaking to reporters, Barrot expressed hope that Washington's new rhetoric and additional EU sanctions would force Putin to "recognize the reality: he has gone too far and now finds himself in an impasse."

At the same time, he urged EU leaders to back the EU's 18th package of sanctions today to maintain momentum after Trump's threats yesterday to "apply very strong pressure on Putin."
