This involves Patriot air defense systems, missiles and munitions.
The weapons to be purchased by NATO from the United States for Ukraine's needs are almost completely ready for immediate shipment. This was reported on Tuesday, July 15, by The New York Times, citing sources.
The weapons in question are, in particular, Patriot air defense systems, missiles and American-made ammunition.
According to the publication, almost all of these weapons are either already in warehouses or have just rolled off the production lines.
According to the International Institute for Strategic Studies in London, the United States has more than 60 of the world's approximately 180 Patriot batteries, making it a key supplier of these systems. At the same time, it is not yet known which countries are ready to give Ukraine their batteries.
Earlier, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said that Berlin would take an active part in supplying Ukraine with Patriot surface-to-air missile systems as part of a new US initiative.
In addition, Denmark, the Netherlands and Sweden said they were ready to join Trump's plan to buy U.S. weapons for Ukraine.
On July 14, Donald Trump announced that the U.S. and NATO had reached an agreement to supply weapons to Ukraine. He said the US will produce the "best in the world" weapons and sell them to NATO, while the alliance will coordinate deliveries to Ukraine.
