There was only one person who met all the requirements.
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky considered at least three candidates for the post of defense minister: Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko, Deputy Prime Minister for Innovation - Minister of Digital Transformation Mikhail Fedorov, his strategic adviser and former head of the Ministry of Strategprom Alexandr Kamyshyn.
The article "Ukrainska Pravda" said.
"Someone should have been appointed to the IOU, who already lives 24/7 war, who understands the real state of affairs, who purely physically can cope with a budget of such a scale, who knows how to establish management processes and, most importantly, who will be able to keep the "defense secrets" of various groups of influence in the government and will have good relations with both Zelensky and Yermak," the article says.
The UP understands that Zelensky considered at least three candidates for the post of defense minister: Klimenko, Fedorov and Kamyshyn.
Interior Minister Klimenko turned down the president's offer. Deputy Prime Minister for Innovation - Minister of Digital Transformation Fedorov and Zelensky's advisor on strategic issues Kamyshin were "eliminated" because of the lack of good relations with Yermak.
"Without quality working communication with the head of the OP, it is difficult for ministers to work. This is evidenced by the example of former Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration Alexander Kubrakov, who went from being the president's 'favorite' to a pariah (not without Yermak's participation)," writes "UP".
The only person who met all the requirements was Denis Shmygal.
The government is going to merge two ministries - defense and strategic industries - under Shmygal's appointment as head of the MOU.
