Diplomat was appointed to the position in September 2024.
Charge d'Affaires of Germany in Belarus Andrea Viktorin is leaving her post. The diplomat wrote about it in Facebook.
"25 years ago I first came to Minsk. Now I am saying goodbye, this time, apparently, finally," Viktorin wrote.
The diplomat noted that the relations between the European Union and Belarus, between Germany and Belarus at the moment are far from the state they could be in.
"That is why in this difficult political situation we have sought to continue to promote contacts between citizens of our countries. Belarus is deeply and firmly linked to our common European continent: we are united by a common history, partly very painful. The future of a free, sovereign Belarus is very important to me, and I wish us all better times and peace," the diplomat said.
Reminder, Andrea Viktorin was appointed Charge d'Affaires of Germany in Belarus in September 2024.
Before that, she worked in Minsk as head of the EU delegation from 2015 to 2019 and as permanent representative of the German Embassy from 2000 to 2003.
