The State Border Guard Service of the country (VSAT) reported, LRT.
Border guards in Lithuania's Šalčininka district used anti-drone equipment to shoot down a small drone that flew in from Belarus. According to VSAT, such drones are used by smugglers.
On the night of Wednesday, July 16, officers at the Tribonis border post heard a sound characteristic of an aircraft near the border with Belarus in the Šalčininka district. At the same time, they noticed a small unmanned aerial vehicle flying from the border with Belarus towards Lithuanian territory.
The VSAT patrol officers used a drone interception tool. The object to which the tool was applied began to rotate at a significant height, then flipped in the air and fell.
The border guards found the crashed UAV, equipped with a GPS device, about 4 km from the border.
