Zelensky gave a number.
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky said that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is afraid of the end of the Russian war against Ukraine, because he does not know what to do with the mobilized people who will return from the front. Zelensky said this in an interview with Newsmax published on YouTube on July 16.
"Putin has mobilized 1 million 200 thousand people. More than 1 million have already been killed or wounded. Today he still has about 1 million 200 thousand military men on the battlefield," Zelensky noted.
He said that if the fighting ends, the occupiers will return to the Russian Federation.
"Why is he [Putin] afraid of the end of the war? Why is he afraid of a ceasefire? One reason is that these people will come home. All these mobilized people will come back to Russia. And what will they come back with? What will happen to them? Psychologically, they're unstable. They didn't fight to defend their homes. They did not fight for themselves. They will come back different," the Ukrainian leader stressed.
Zelensky believes that Russia still has no plan for what to do with these mobilized people.
