It will be one of the most powerful.
The 18th package of sanctions against Russia includes more than a hundred "shadow fleet" vessels, a reduction in the price ceiling on Russian oil, and measures against banks and companies outside Russia that are involved in supporting its war machine.
This was announced by the European Union's chief diplomat Kaja Kallas, writes "European Pravda".
Kallas called the agreed 18th package one of the most powerful of all those applied against Russia.
"We are further trimming the Kremlin's budget for financing the war by listing 105 more 'shadow fleet' vessels and those who facilitate them, and restricting Russian banks' access to financing. "Nord Stream will be banned. It is also a lower oil price ceiling," Kaya Kallas said.
She said the sanctions package will provide additional pressure on Russia's military-industrial complex, Chinese banks that help Russia circumvent sanctions, and additional obstacles to importing components used in military UAVs into Russia.
"For the first time, we have penalized a maritime registrar and Rosneft's largest refining facility in India with sanctions. In addition, our sanctions hit those engaged in imposing ideology on Ukrainian children," the EU's chief diplomat added.
Callas added that the EU is determined to further increase pressure on Russia so that stopping the aggression "becomes the only possible way out for Moscow."
Reminder, in the morning of July 18, the Committee of Permanent Representatives of the EU (Cohereg) approved the 18th package of EU sanctions against Russia, which could not be agreed for a long time due to the resistance of Slovakia and Malta.
