Russia Will Lose Tens Of Billions Already This Year

The expert commented on the new EU sanctions.

By the end of 2025, Russia may lose from 15 to 30 billion dollars of oil revenues due to the new oil price ceiling. If this factor is used "to the fullest," Russia will lose the most money.

According to "RBC-Ukraine", the Ukrainian president's commissioner for sanctions policy Vladislav Vlasiuk said this, citing the broadcast of the "We are Ukraine" TV channel.

According to the commissioner, the new oil price ceiling will cause the Kremlin to lose 10-20 dollars on each barrel. At the same time, Russian oil is already being sold at a significant discount.

In general, Russia is incurring significant losses because most tankers in the "shadow fleet" are already under sanctions, and legal carriers may refuse to transport Russian oil. Russia's losses depend on whether the oil price cap can be implemented, or whether the Kremlin starts trying to circumvent the restrictions again.

"It depends on the extent to which the oil price cap can be implemented. If fully - it is minus 30 billion, if as now, then about 15-20 billion," - explained Vlasiuk.

The sanctions commissioner emphasized that the restrictions imposed by Western countries create significant problems in the Russian economy. But so far economic pressure is not enough to force the Russian regime to stop its aggression in Ukraine.
