The American president turned to the Republican majority leader.
US President Donald Trump is urging the Senate not to go on summer recess. He is asking for the confirmation of his proposed nominees for office.
Trump wrote in Truth Social.
The American president addressed the Senate majority leader, Republican John Thune.
"I hope that the very talented John Thune, who has won numerous victories over the last two weeks, and in fact over the last six months, will cancel the August recess (and long weekend) to confirm my incredible nominees," Trump wrote.
As noted, senators must approve the six nominees Trump has put forward. But senators are scheduled to recess in August.
The key nominees to be confirmed include Justice Department lawyer Emil Bove to be a federal appeals court judge and former Fox News host Janine Pirro to be the top federal prosecutor in the Washington, D.C., area.
