A Russian General Involved In Crimes In Ukraine Has Died

Korneev commanded the 7th Guards Airborne Assault Division of the Airborne Forces.

Russian sources reported the death of Major General Alexander Kornev, who headed the 7th Division of the Russian Airborne Troops.

The news of his death appeared on July 20 on the official page of the Ryazan Airborne School in the Russian social network VKontakte, reports Dialog.UA.

"Today the whole big family of the Airborne Troops is grieving. Major General Alexander Vladimirovich Kornev's heart stopped today. He was the commander of the 7th Airborne Division. Rest in heaven, Comrade Guards Major-General!" - the publication said.

The causes of death are not specified. There is unconfirmed information about a heart attack.

The 7th Guards Airborne Assault Division of the Russian Airborne Forces actively participated in the aggression against Ukraine, noted for its atrocities in the Kherson and Zaporizhzhya regions. It was in these areas that numerous facts of violence against civilians were recorded, including extrajudicial executions, abductions, torture and shelling of residential infrastructure.
