The AFU has found a weak spot of the Russian Federation.
When Ukraine, launching drones into Russian airspace, stops the work of airports there, it pursues the goal of weakening the Russian economy, says the founder of the charity organization "Jet Mail", military expert Pavel Narozhny. He said this on the air of Radio NV.
"Several aviation experts did a calculation of how much the Russian Federation loses on all these redirections, flight stops and the like. And we are talking about tens of billions of Russian rubles, which is a very large sum, given how much we spend on manufacturing and launching these drones. That is incommensurable sums," he noted.
He said that air transportation is very important for Russians, because there are regions in Russia that cannot be reached from Moscow by any other means than by plane. Also, Narozhny does not rule out that these attacks are "support" for the probable thesis of US President Donald Trump, voiced in a conversation with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, about strikes on Moscow, as previously reported by Western media.
At the same time, Narozhny explained why such attacks manage to be realized by the Ukrainian military. He believes that the Russians "simply lack air defense," including over Moscow. And, he says, Ukrainian drones, like Russian Shaheds, are also improving and are also trying to come in from higher altitudes and dive, i.e. Ukraine is using the same methods as the enemy.
"Regarding the necessary amount of air defense. First, the air defense must be echeloned, that is, it is several different means - small radius, medium radius, large radius - depending on the type of object that is being defended. There are different estimates of how much air defense is needed to cover Moscow, and right now it's unrealistic to just do it. Because most of these means are located on the occupied territory of Ukraine, and our specialists systematically destroy these air defense means," the expert explained.
