Lukashenko's "oil Fever" Has Begun

No time to think, no time to drill.

The Belarusian economic miracle has long lacked real miracles. Oil, gas or some other secret minerals. At Tuesday's meeting, Lukashenko ordered more oil to be found, writes planmedia.io.

In fact, Belarus has oil. It's a sin to complain. Last year, the country produced 1.9 million tons. This year the production is going to increase to two million tons. But for the Belarusian economy to continue to show miracles, two million is not enough. It needs at least seven or eight. Therefore, we just need to look for better.

"I know for sure that we have reserves here. So we should not hesitate, but drill and drill," said Lukashenko.

Drill in principle, it works. Because drilling is not a hard thing to do. But the search for new oil reserves is a bit worse. There is no more oil in Belarus. As of 2000, Belarusian oil reserves amounted to 65 million tons. Now there are 45 million.

So the increase in production is mainly due to more intensive development of existing fields. If you produce more now, it means that later you will have to produce less. And most of the newly discovered fields are of such a scale that it is cheaper to shut them down immediately than to spend money on organizing oil production.

Last year 285 thousand meters of wells were drilled to find new promising fields. Oil production, thanks to these efforts, rose by 20,000 tons. Before the ceiling on Russian oil was lowered, it was possible to earn 26 million Belarusian rubles on the sale of this Belarusian oil.

But Belarusian statistics prefers not to tell anyone how much drilling cost. But only 35 million rubles were spent on the renewal of the material and technical base of the Research and Production Center "Geology" alone. That is, the balance is negative, even if we do not count the costs of drilling wells.

"And the actual pace of work on exploration of new fields is low," complained Lukashenko.

But if you are ordered to drill, there is no time to count the costs. And common sense is obviously superfluous here. Lukashenko said that he feels oil and gas, so we should look for it. In thirty years, however, nothing has been found, but one should not deprive a man of his dream. In this case it will be more expensive for yourself.

The more so that the search for secret minerals is not a whim, but a state program of the highest macroeconomic level. If we find oil and gas, the Belarusian miracle will be happy.

But the presence of potassium deposits does not help the Belarusian miracle much. It is not for nothing that Lukashenko complained in autumn that potash fertilizers have to be sold at a loss. Because it's not about minerals, but about who disposes of them.

So there is no happiness in life, no justice in life. In Poland on Monday announced the discovery of the largest field in Europe in recent decades, the reserves of which are estimated at 33 million tons of oil and 27 billion cubic meters of gas.

That's how you dream for years to find some secret fields to live happily ever after, but others find them. Who live quite well without these deposits.
