Axios: Trump Told Zelensky He Wants To Help Ukraine With Air Defense Systems

During a phone conversation with Ukrainian vis-a-vis Vladimir Zelensky on Friday, Donald Trump said the United States wants to help Ukraine with air defense because of escalating Russian attacks.
Axios Axios has learned from two informed sources.
The Axios sources said the phone conversation between Trump and Zelensky lasted about 40 minutes and focused primarily on Ukraine's air defense needs.
One source said the US president was aware of the recent escalation by Russia, particularly air strikes on Ukrainian cities and on the front line.
"Trump said he wanted to help with air defense and that he would check what exactly had been suspended, if any," the source told Axios.
The Ukrainian source said Trump and Zelensky agreed that representatives of the United States and Ukraine would meet soon to discuss the supply of air defense and other weapons.
