Peskov Commented On The Suicide Of Sacked Russian Minister Starovoit

Vladimir Putin has been reported on the suicide of former Russian Transport Minister Roman Starovoit and the information was "shocking," Russian presidential spokesman Dmitri Peskov said.

In a telephone briefing, the Kremlin speaker was asked how Putin perceived the fired minister's suicide and why he did not offer condolences.

Peskov said the Russian president was "immediately informed" about the incident. However, he declined to comment in detail.

- Of course, information of this kind is always so tragic and sad," he said.

The Kremlin speaker emphasized that the incident "cannot but shock normal people":
